through the cracks part 2

I never do this, but I'm torn.
Can't decide which version works better for this image.

This version is actually what the original neg looks like. Just rescanned it.
I opted to go with low contrast the first take, but now this one is pulling me in.
Maybe it's because I'm in a dark place after a number of difficult weeks and it matches my mood?
Or maybe it works better and it has nothing to do with me?

Do tell...What do you think?
