![]() Hallelujah! Jake's home, safe and sound. He’s out of sorts and lost a lot of weight, but he’s home and that’s all that matters. Of course, I’d prefer if he was at my home for good. But knowing he’s home with the G's will have to suffice. Many, many thanks to all for your well wishes and support. The shot above was taken with my favorite Diana a few weeks back. I needed to kill some time, so I wandered into this very sad petting zoo somewhere in the Valley. This shot cracked me up, so thought it was an appropriate post to accompany the good news. On a serious note now... For the record: ''U.S. Declares Iraqis Can Not Save Their Own Seeds'' As part of sweeping ''economic restructuring'' implemented by the Bush Administration in Iraq, Iraqi farmers will no longer be permitted to save their seeds, which include seeds the Iraqis themselves have developed over hundreds of years. Instead, they will be forced to buy seeds from US corporations. That is because in recent years, transnational corporations have patented and now own many seed varieties originated or developed by indigenous peoples. In a short time, Iraq will be living under the new American credo: Pay Monsanto, or starve.: http://www.vegsource.com/articles2/iraq_seeds.htm What's next? Paying them off with virus infested wool blankets instead of cash? | |
