![]() I happened upon this little boy and his father at The Topanga Fair last Summer. When I walked by the boy initially, he watched me intensely whenever I looked through the viewfinder at something. The boy gazed at me and mumbled the same unintelligible phrases over and over to me. After several minutes of this, his father eyed me down, stated that his boy was "not well", but wouldn't elaborate further. I wasn't sure if he was embarrassed or bothered, but it was clear that he was frustrated. Not with me. Just with life. Every time I clicked the shutter, the boy would laugh... And laugh... And laugh with everything he had. But if I aimed the camera at him, he'd become very serious and appear as if he was looking right though me. Odd how a complete stranger can touch you so deeply. Even if it's a child whose only means of communication is through laughter. | |
